VXL announces Microsoft RemoteFX ready WES7 Thin Clients for an enhanced Virtual Computing experience

Global thin client hardware and software manufacturer, VXL Instruments, announces the launch of its new Microsoft® RemoteFX supported Windows Embedded Standard (WES) 7 desktop and notebook thin client line-up.

Available now, the Microsoft® RemoteFX optimised WES7 desktops include the current VXL 15 series (TC1527), C / Cs Series (C24 / C24s), Ds Series (D24s), Es Series (E24s) and 63 series (TC6324) models. As to the VXL-Lenovo co-branded notebooks, these include the latest 11.6” TL-120-24 and 14.1” TL-412-24 models.

Microsoft’s RemoteFX takes advantage of GPU virtualisation and advanced codecs to deliver a full Windows 7 experience, including next generation multi-media, including full-motion video and multiple displays for virtual desktop or notebook infrastructures hosted on Windows Server 2008 R2 (SP1) systems.

With the release of Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1, Microsoft now offers new capabilities for Remote Desktop Services and RemoteFX. Representing a set of RDP technologies, RemoteFX will allow operators to work remotely in a Windows desktop environment and be able to gain access via standard RDP 7.1 connection.

Frank Noon, VXL’s VP of Worldwide sales commented; “The release of Microsoft RemoteFX will dramatically change the virtual computing landscape”. “Users will now be able to fully realise the enhanced user experience of our Windows 7 thin clients for a fantastic multi-media experience over the network” he added.

“By developing our thin client desktop and notebook line-up in this way”, concludes Noon, “we’re pushing the thin client boundaries, yet maintaining the VXL commitment to enhance hardware performance, ensure low cost of ownership and deliver added-value, user-friendly solutions.”
